Well the new Sounds album dying to say this to you was just about what i expected. Definitely a great cd, but nothing really new from their last album. I felt the album lacked the catchiness of their first album, but I definitely think they are spreading their creative legs. I really like the cover haha.

So I decided the live performance of the year that I witnessed had to be Coldplay's Austin City Limits Music Festival performance. ACL was awesome this year with great performances by Bloc Party, Oasis, Death Cab For Cutie, Rilo Kiley, and so many more. But Coldplay was simply amazing.

New Strokes!

So the new Strokes album is coming soon. I have heard two tracks off of the new album entitled First Impressions of Earth, and all I can say is that they are different. The majority of reviews I have read online say they aren't so good, but everyone that I know that has heard the new songs love them, I know I will love it either way and I can't wait to see them for the third time this coming year. Tell me what you think of the new songs if you have heard them.

So these past few weeks have really just been some what of a blur, I've had test after test, crap after more crap of stuff. It just seems that my professors want to punish me, maybe God wants to teach me a lesson or something but I really don't know what lesson. I haven't gotten to read any more of Harry Potter and it comes out on Friday, Martin and Jen and I are going to see it at midnight I'm really considering that to be the beginning of my Thanksgiving break even though I still have class next Monday and Tuesday but all my tests and papers will be done with. I really can't wait for Thanksgiving, I want to see my family yes, but I really just want to sleep for like a whole day without myself or anyone else forcing me to do anything. I just can't wait for Christmas is all I'm saying haha.

The Boondocks

So the new Adult Swim show premiered last night it is called the Boondocks. It is about two young black kids who live with their grand pa in a rich white neighborhood. The first episode was pretty funny and I can see how it might get pretty controversial, it just seemed like the whole show I was just waiting for something big to happen you never know what they are going to do. So definitely check it out.

This monday Jen and I went to go see Fall Out Boy, Motion City Soundtrack, and The Starting Line. The Starting Line kinda sucked, but Motion City Soundtrack was awesome and I met their lead singer and wished him luck with the show, we got to park behind the Fall Out Boy bus so that was a highlight after driving around the parking lot forever. Fall Out Boy was amazing definitely one of the most intense shows I've been to ever, it was interesting to see the bass player being the one leading the band as opposed to the lead singer but it was kick ass.

Last Tuesday Jen and I went to go see Kings of Leon with Martin and Dana. Probably one of the best hard rock shows I've been to, they lacked a little energy but their coolness just exceeded anything you could imagine, I know I've posted before on their latest album on how it was so good but the songs were just so much better live.

So tomorow I'm having some very minor surgery tomorow in order to better help my doctor in treating my sinus problems. Everyone freaks out when I say I'm having surgery I think I should just start saying I have to go to the doctor for a while, the doctor said it was only going to take like 15 minutes so I am really not worried about it. The only problem is that I have to be there at 7:30 in the morning.

So I have finally moved the majority of my stuff into my house in Georgetown. I bought an awesome bed and some other really cool furniture. I was surprised to find out that when I got to Georgetown that Vishal was here looking at apartments with Vicky and visiting his brother, then on Friday Lauren got here with her friend and came and visited me, it was alot of fun hanging out with Lauren again and I hope she will be a constant fixture at my house from now on, she is fun to have around and she always has good music. Vish left today and tomorow my parents and my brother get here so we are going to buy some more stuff for the house and have a little vacation in Austin. If you are in Georgetown just give me a call and come see the house.

The movie was awesome definitely different from the original but not to the point where it ruined the original. Supposedly Johnny Depp based his performance of Willy Wonka on Michael Jackson I could see how someone would say that because both Willy Wonka and Michael Jackson are completely wackos but Wonka is a wacko in that cool give me chocolate kind of way and that is so much better.

Hurricane Emily is coming right for Brownsville basically. I don't really know what to think of hurricanes because I've never really been in a bad one. Two years ago we thought one was going to hit us and we put up all the boards to cover the windows and all we got was alot of wind, so I'm kinda of reluctant to do anything drastic but it is always better to be safe than dead haha. They said Ms. Emily is going to hit about 60 miles south of us at about midnight Tuesday so we are playing the waiting game, I'm really hoping the power will go off so I can have an excuse just to sleep. We will see what happens.

It is here. But I really don't care, I wish I got on the Harry Potter band wagon when it came out so I would be up to date when the new book came out. I have only read one of the books so when the new one Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince came out I just asked Mitch what happened. I won't ruin it for anybody who hasn't read it but someone very important dies! haha The series is also almost over with one book left Harry Potter fans are having to start preparing for the end, but my feeling is that J.K. Rowling won't stop anytime soon she is too freaking rich! So check it out, I like the movies though.

A Day Back in G-Town

So this weekend is kind of my own personal vacation. Phase 1 is Wednesday afternoon and all day Thursday in Georgetown. Then Phase 2 is Friday through probably Monday or Tuesday in Argyle hanging out with all my friends from school, then probably another stop at the house in G-Town on the way back to Brownsville. So my day in Georgetown started off pretty well with an 8 o'clock wake up call from the movers who were moving my new couch and table into my house they were supposed to arrive between 9:30 and 11:30. So after that all my day consisted off was going to Wal-Mart twice getting McDonalds for lunch, laying on the new couch and watching the Wedding Singer. Then I went to Austin and enjoyed a nice Freebird burrito we were going to go some frat party but we were both to worn out from doing nothing today. The pics I posted are of inside my house I know they are kinda crappy I took them with my phone but I haven't posted any pics lately so I thought I would put something. My house is pretty empty right now but come August it is going to filled with junk, I can't wait. I still don't have a bed something I must remedy soon so now I get to try out the new pull out mattress in our awesome new couch. Stay tuned for more exciting entries on my road trip.

So I'm sitting in the New Orleans airport waiting for my flight to Houston and then off to Harlingen where I will then have to drive another 30 minutes home. The weekend was pretty cool I kinda wished my Dad had come though. We stayed at the W Hotel in the French Quarter and it was really kickass I had a sweet balcony overlooking the French Quarter. My cousin's wedding was really nice they had this awesome chocolate fondue fountain with anything you can imagine dipping in chocolate. Yesterday we went to the zoo and then we went back downtown and I went crazy in Urban Outfitters. Stay tuned for pics from my adventurous weekend in the big easy. I realized that I really miss my friends more when i'm gone for a couple of days it prevents me from trying to kill any of them haha. See everyone soon.

Being back home sucks and I know I'm going to regret saying this but not working sucks. My days consist of sleeping till about 10 waking up watching t.v. till 12 going to go eat at the same old restaurants in Brownsville coming back home and playing MVP for about an hour or two then watching some more t.v. and then eating dinner then playing another hour of MVP and then going to watch Adult Swim and the movie channels till about 12 then going to bed. I know this is only temporary until I am well enough to start working, it isn't that I'm encapable of working it is just that my nose bothers the hell out of me and I'm coughing and sniffling all the time and my mom doesn't think people will really want me around if I'm constantly coughing up blood. I really kind of want to get a job as a bar tender or something at night something cool like that. I guess I will just have to see.

So I have decided to update my blog. The reason I haven't updated in a while is because I've been home getting used to being back home. I'm starting to get back to doing the things I used to do back in the day like hang out w/ Mark and Bill and the rest of the guys. But I'm going back to Southwestern to go move some stuff in to my new house! It is going to be so much fun next year I can't wait to move in and I can't wait to finally have my own place. I really miss everyone from school especially when I watch Aqua Teen Cause that is what we used to do all the time at school and I'm watching it right now I love this show it is so damn funny. Well i'm sure i will keep posting if anyone is wondering. Don't forget to go buy the new Coldplay and the new White Stripes albums tomorow have fun.

So they have elected a new pope. Pope Benedict XVI from Germany. So I think it is great that they have but when watching the news today they were saying some of this guys nicknames were "the enforcer" and "the fundamentalist" so I don't really know what is going to happen with this guy. I'm not Catholic so I'm not too worried about it but it is still cool to be witnessing history.

I missed my chance to see the Bravery this spring break I chose to stay home and nurse my alcohol wounds. The Killers aren't even coming to Texas on their new tour and I'm pretty pissed about that. But Bloc Party is coming to Dallas soon so I'll be able to go to that during the summer and hang out w/ all my D-Town peeps.

So I got the Bravery cd and there is alot of talk about these guys saying they are the new Killers and they have also been feuding with the Killers. I think it is some marketing tools to group them with the killers although they do have similar style of music i think it is crap to just say well you will like these guys if you like these guys no one wants people's music to be unique anymore they just want to follow the fads. But either way the Bravery cd is good definitely a good listen. My roommate also downloaded the new Beck cd and he said it was great so check that one out too.

Well I'm back home now at school, I've been back for a couple of days now and things are in full swing again. We get Friday off so that is cool, I kinda wish I was going home for Easter but I just can't get enough energy to pack and go home just to pack and come right back. It sux. I have pictures from Cozumel and the rest of Spring Break but I've just been too lazy to upload them onto my computer. I've been really lazy lately I always am, I've been really bored too. My mom always said that if your bored your boring and I think that is true in most cases but I think that if you are bored and you have people around you they must be boring too and that is the way I feel, not necessarily about my friends but just the people at this school in general. I'm not saying people have to entertain me 24/7 it is just that I think people here are way too into themselves, but I guess I am the same way because I'm complaining about people being boring and rejecting the fact that I myself am boring.

Spring break was alot of fun and my parents were super cool with whatever I did so that was totally awesome. I've kind of realized that I am definitely going to see less and less of my old friends from high school, because it used to be every time I go down to Brownsville I see most of them but this time I only saw one or two of them. I guess that is a good thing, but I do wish I got to see Mark but I know I will see him soon enough.

Well I'm gonna try and post some new pics even though I doubt many people read this. Haha.

Pledge Parties Rule

So this weekend was pretty crazy. Derek's twin brother Brad came down from MSU and Newt and Derek's friend Chris came down from OU who is also my friend on facebook! Friday night Newt, Chris and I tried to go to the KA pledge party and got kicked off the bus mainly because the KAs are a bunch of assholes, not all of them but the good majority. Then Saturday we went to Derek's lacrosse game and Brad's rugby game which was awesome because it was a tournament and they let you drink there and the beer was awesome, Brad and I are sure it is the best beer we ever had, I think it was Sam Adams Light. So then Saturday night was awesome, it was the Phi Delt pledge party it was a pajama party so all the girls were in nighties and the guys were just in pajama bottoms and t-shirts so that was awesome. The pic is from saturday night the girl is Stacy Zane and let's just say she is freakin hot. I got to hang out with her pretty much the whole night and it was awesome. Vish almost got in a fight with somebody and I almost got beat up by this Phi Delt named Clint for the second time. Every time he has almost beat me up it was a misunderstanding. So this weekend was awesome but the downside is I have a ton of work this week but all I have to do is make it through to Wednesday and then after that I can relax and then on Friday, SPRING BREAK!

So yeah after reading an article on the greatest Elvis Costello albums and "This Year's Model" was number one, I was at Best Buy and I still had some money left over on my gift card so I bought it. This album is awesome it is great poppy punk it is great to just put on the iPod and just listen to it during anything. So if you are looking something cool for your iPod definitely check this album out.

So with my birthday money i bought Aqua Teen Hunger Force seasons 2 and 3. I already had season 1. So my collection is complete. Liston, Newt, Derek, Vish, and I have been watching it every spare moment and I think we have a grasp of which character each of us are. We are 100% sure Vish is meatwad, Liston is Master Shake, Derek is Carl, Newt is a Mooninite, and I am Frylock. Although Newt and Liston say I should be Carl because I do the best impersonation of his voice. Freakin Awesome. So if you haven't checked out the Aqua Teen Box Sets check them out, Season 3 is the best especially the Frat Aliens episode.

So today I spent some of my birthday money on the new donnie darko director's cut. I saw it when it came out in Austin at the Dobie theatre it was really awesome. I love Donnie Darko because it is one of those movies you can just watch and just think. I already opened it up and watched the extras DVD and they had this little documentary about the #1 Darko fan and he was freaking crazy I couldn't really tell if he was being serious or if it was just something they set up. So we will just see what happens.

I missed them last time they were here, well i shouldn't say i missed them I chose not to go because it was at Stubb's and it was so freakin cold outside so I decided not to freeze my butt off. So this time they are playing at Austin City Music Hall so it is going to be nice and warm inside next wednesday. My bro and our friend Mitch are coming up from Brownsville to go and Martin and Liston are going to go with me so if you have the time and the money check it out. I just hope I don't get sick again like I did with Bright Eyes. We will see what happens.

I got both new bright eyes cds. They are both really cool and both really different. I really like the more folky one I'm Wide Awake It's Morning. It is really cool because Emmylou Harris appears on it and she is like my dad's favorite singer so it is cool to have that musical connection with my dad. But sadly i missed the show in austin it really sucked i was looking forward to it so bad, but i got mono instead, fun. But I think Conor is doing a great job but I think he is really going to try is hardest to stay out of the spotlight, we will see how that goes.

life is getting weird. i got mono and boy does that suck. liston also gave martina gangsta life tat at vicky's the other night i thought it was pretty sweet. school sux and valentine's day really sucked i didn't have a valentine and i realized i don't have any girls in my life which is cool but in the end really sucks. all i gotta say is check out the new kings of leon cd it is awesome, it almost makes you feel like you are cooler when you listen to it so listen to it. peace out.

Well it sure has been awhile. I had a great first semester at school. I had a great christmas break liston, newt, derek, jesse, and zach all came down to brownsville and it was alot of fun. Halloween is finally here. Here is Anne and Nick at the Pikes last night. Anne decided to dress up as Harry Potter and Nick decided to dress up like himself. I dressed up like David Beckham. I had alot of fun, we went to Denny's at like 4 or in the morning and I woke up this morning not tired at all thanks alot daylight savings time. Happy Halloween

Astros! World Series?

I have been away because of the playoffs. The playoffs are very special this year because the Astros after many many many years of sucking really bad, have finally done something and made it to the playoffs. Now it looks that they might even make it to the world series. I'm trying to get tickets. It is so awesome, if you aren't watching start.

This week was hell. Starting with monday i just had a light fever of 99 to 100, and my throat hurt. Tuesday my temperature went up slightly, i had a really bad headache, i was short of breath, and i could hardly swallow because my throat hurt so much. Then Wednesday it all came crashing down, i woke up in so much pain i could hardly move, Jill took me to the doctor where they said i had a fever of 103, i was shivering so much that it felt like i was having a seizure, the doctor took blood and couldn't figure out what was wrong with me. I didn't have mono and i didn't have strep throat, so he gave me some medicine and now i'm feeling a little better after i slept all of yesterday. So my lesson for this week is don't get sick, it sucks.

Debate Time

Tonight I watched the debate. Well....it was interesting. I am really debating on who i really want to vote for. But personally I am more concerned about who I am going to be for Halloween as opposed to who I am going to vote for. I live in Texas, and until the eletoral college is eliminated my vote really doesn't matter. So we will just have to wait till november and find out what happens.

Mmmm....today I was thinking about Halloween. I have come up with two people to be thus far. Donnie Darko and Max Fischer, it is a tough decision. I am open to suggestions, so if anyone has any comments are welcome. These guys are two of my favorite characters ever. If you haven't seen either Donnie Darko or Rushmore you need to fast. This Weekend

This weekend Jill, Hayden, and Lindsay went with me to go see my brother in Brownsville. I had a blast, I finally got to get some real rest. Even though I am now behind on my work, not really actually I just want to feel stressed out, so I think I am actually busy. Oh well, we had fun. Jill makes the best pancakes.

the greatest band in the world THE STROKES have released a new video for their single THE END HAS NO END, it is great. unfortunately they did not play at ACL, if you ever get a chance to go see them you should, i have seen them twice they are great.
